Make In Color! Live Life Brighter!
Do you feel like you always doubt your color choices with your projects, especially when it comes to brioche knitting, stranded colorwork, stripes, etc? It can feel very overwhelming and stressful, especially if you are shopping and need to make a decision in the store. In this class, I will be sharing all of my color theory expertise, where to start when choosing colors for your projects, and a surefire way to make sure you will LOVE your finished objects without the guessing game. After looking and choosing colors, we will begin swatching to see what they look like together.
Afternoon Session 2 PM – 5 PM
Breezy Condo
Wanna try something weird but super simple? Take your garter stitch knitting to the next level with Condo Knitting. Condo knitting became an obsession of mine early in my design career, and I still love it! We will be casting on a scarf together in class, learning the Condo stitch and working on something that you can bring home! Condo knitting creates a beautiful open mesh, almost net-like fabric. It’s perfect for accessories and transitional or warm weather! We will be knitting a swatch first to learn this technique, with the possibility of casting on a project if there is time!
Homework:
Optional: Purchase Breezy Cabana shawl pattern to cast on in class, found on Ravelry and KnitGraffiti.com.
Supplies:
» One full skein or ball of yarn in DK weight, at least 231 yards / 211 meters, your choice of color. Make sure it’s wound and ready to work with!
» Needles in both sizes: US 5 / 3.75 mm and US 15 / 10 mm (or larger).
» Optional yarn for casting on my Breezy Cabana shawl in class! (see pattern for material info)
Who is Lesley Anne Robinson?
Lesley Anne Robinson is the knitting pattern designer behind Knit Graffiti Designs. She loves to create knitting patterns that focus on modern style with a flair for something different. After graduating from the College for Creative Studies (located in Detroit, Michigan) with a degree in Interior Design and a minor in Fiber Design in 2006, she moved to New York City, where she spent several years there working as a commercial Interior Designer for Spin Design. She started knitting in college, but in 2015 began self-publishing knitting patterns. Brioche knitting is her main passion! She fell in love with the technique and just hasn’t gotten sick of it yet. Lesley loves to teach others how to knit those beautiful brioche stitches, and spends her days swatching out new brioche stitch patterns. Lesley is currently living in South Texas with her husband and two boys, designing in her small home studio, where she also films her online classes.
